Our own Trixie Dixon will be performing songs from “Daughter of the Dust” at Steers & Queers this week! It should be a great show with Katie Avery accompanying on her fiddle and Trixie making it happen on her Ukelele. Steers & Queers is a great country event, filled with drag performances and amazing tunes! The Dakota is also one of the best country bars in town, and I never fail to have a great time there, so I’m excited that we’re part of the event.

Thursday, November 10- starting 10pm @ the Dakota

WANTED: Musicians for new COUNTRY MUSICAL

Posted on: May 27th, 2011 by helen No Comments

We are now auditioning country Musicians for our upcoming performance of “Daughter of the Dust“! It is an original and entertaining musical about a rising star, Trixie Dixon, who is about to get her big break (as long as her mother doesn’t show up and ruin everything!) Daughter of the Dust is a heartfelt, at times outrageous, take on country music and the people who make it.

Inspired by Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, and Dolly Parton – to name a few timeless stars – the music is funny, witty and original. If you feel this might be something up your alley give us a holler and we can meet up to play a few tunes and test each other out.

We also have two fundraisers arranged for July and August, and we are also looking for country musicians who’d like a chance to take the stage with us and perform as part of our line up! If you’re not sure about committing to the play but want a chance to strut your stuff at an entertaining Country event we’d love to hear from you :D
